Thank goodness the rest of the game is stronger visually. Serious SamвЂ™s menus leave a bad taste in oneвЂ™s mouth. The menu needs to be appealing and visually attractive. While bugs exist in any game this really stands out, and should have been fixed.Д«oring menus вЂ“ Every game needs to make a good first impression.

The survival mode is a great example of this.Д«lack sky of doom вЂ“ Occasionally, the game has some graphical glitches вЂ“ like the sky flickering back and forth between blue with clouds to just straight black. One minute players are running through an empty forest, the next theyвЂ™re literally fighting for their lives. Trying so hard to stay alive вЂ“ The amount of enemies players will encounter throughout the game at times gets ridiculousВ - so ridiculous that itвЂ™s awesome. The enemies players encounter really stand out amongst other first-person shooters. Throughout the game players chased, bombarded, and attacked by some of the most unique and grotesque enemies this side of a horror flick. Hideous alien creatures вЂ“ Serious Sam has some serious and hideously attractive creatures.

But when played over Xbox Live or via splitscreen the game becomes an instant and constant joy. While playing single player the game can get monotonous.

ItвЂ™s always better to play with a friend вЂ“ The online and offline c0-op gameplay for a handful of people is a great feature. Sam soon discovers that a second ship was left on Earth and determines to fight through the alien army to get to it.

Shortly after takeoff the ship crash lands in Central America. He has boarded a spacecraft, seeking to take the fight back to the alien homeworld. Sam is back! Continuing directly where Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter left off, Sam having defeated a head general of an alien army. A copy of the game was provided by the publisher for reviewing purposes.
